Meeting of the University of the Mountains on issues of the Penelope Gandhi mission

Mrs. Barbara Terzakis-Pallikari met with the Deputy Governor of Lassithi, Mr. Nikos Kastrinakis, following the meeting of the women’s cultural group of the PTO in Kritsa and Kroustas on May 17, 2012, where the issue of reopening traditional workshops in the area of ​​Merabello and throughout Crete was discussed with the women of the two villages. Many women of Merabello, led by one of the commendable women of the place, Mrs. M. Simaiaki, since there even today, women weave as in past years and maintain an enviable ethos and behavior, despite all the difficulties of our time.
The Deputy Governor of Lasithi enthusiastically listened to and discussed this plan, which the University of the Mountains hopes to implement, with the participation and support mainly of the women of Crete.
