Flax spinning at the Gouves High School of Heraklion with the participation of students from the 7th High School of Heraklion and pie cutting on Friday, March 17, 2023

The Penelope Gandhi Mission – Pto sowed flax together with the students and teachers of the Gouvon High School of Heraklion.
It was harvested and on Friday, March 17, 2023, a peer tutoring session was organized for the students of the High School, together with the students of the 7th High School of Heraklion.
The teachers of the two high schools, Mrs. Varvara Terzakis, together with local weavers and volunteers of the Mission showed the children how we get the thread from the Flax plant and make the Thread.
Then it is woven, to become light and fabric in our Argastiri.
This action was dedicated by the students and teachers of Gouves High School to the late teacher, Varvara Kothra, a bright and creative woman, who unfortunately left us very young, recently.
