A.Fofana together with Curator M.Szewczyk from Documenta 14 searched for the end of the thread with the Penelope Gandhi Mission in Crete, 14-16 June 2017

Aboubakar Fofana, an African artist, accompanied by the central curator of Documenta 14, Mrs. Monica Szewczyk, came to Crete last week, hosted by the University of the Mountains and the Penelope Gandhi Mission.

Three work activities were jointly organized in Aemonas and Krana, Rethymno, as well as at the Folklore Museum of Neapolis, Lassithi, on the topic of processing, spinning and dyeing sheep’s hair with vegetable dyes.

Aboubakar Fofana spoke about the method of dyeing with indigo and the group of weavers of ΠG, about the traditional processing of woolen yarn and its dyeing with rizari.
