Cotton harvest at the Agricultural School of Ampelouzos

The University of the Mountains, together with the students of the Agricultural School of Ampelouzos, the Agricultural School of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Professor Mr. I. Pallikaris, Professor Mr. I. Pyrgiotakis and His Eminence Metropolitan of Gortyna and Arcadia, Mr. Makarios, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, held the Harvest of the all-white, wonderful cotton.
The Greek seed was brought (Orchomeno, Boeotia) by the psychiatrist Mr. Nik. Nikolakakis, which we sowed throughout Crete, last April with the students and the students as well as at the Agricultural School.
We sowed the cotton for the earth itself. Study and experiential knowledge for the new generation, as well as for the creation of cotton thread for weaving, from the Penelope Gandhi Mission.
Afterwards, at the Mountain Cafe, issues concerning the cultivation of cotton, the production of natural yarns and the self-sufficiency that Crete must regain were discussed in the presence of the students of the school, local authorities and professors of the University of Crete.
