On Sunday, June 24, 2018, at 06.00 in the morning, at sunrise, the Penelope Gandhi Mission team and a group of students from Emmanuel College, Boston USA, will celebrate at the old elementary school of Krana Mylopotamos, home of the University of the Mountains, the sacred harvest festival of the Flax that we sowed and reaped – a Ceremony of Reciprocity and Solidarity. Then at 10.00 am, together with the Municipality of Mylopotamos, Mr. Manousos Klados, representatives of the villages of Mylopotamos and weavers who are located in the villages around the foothills of Psiloritis and participated in the Yarn Festival in the summer of 2017, the woven fabrics woven in their looms, the results of the Festival will be presented and a dialogue and proposals for the future of the art of weaving and the production of natural yarns and vegetable dyes in Mylopotamos will follow.
