Penelope Gandhi presents her first major action with an Exhibition-Interaction, which will take place at the Basilica of Saint Mark, from November 1 to 17, 2012 in Heraklion. The old weavers of Crete, together with social scientists, educators, archaeologists and scientists of other disciplines, will teach the children of the schools of Crete.

At the same time, in the same space it organizes experiential approaches and laboratory-type discussions under the guidance of Mrs. Eleni Glykatzi-Arveler, together with invited ladies from the Middle East and India, local weavers and children – students. The Mission is coordinated by Mrs. Varvara Terzakis-Pallikaris.

Lysistrata said that she would organize political life as she organizes her loom, she would clean and untangle the threads, she would gather what was scattered, she would put them all in order and she would also weave a cape for the Demos…

Ariadne held the thread-meaning of Cretan culture in her hands…

Penelope Gandhi is holding the thread today…

The Exhibition will be open to all those who wish to participate in the experiential/interactive approaches to Textile Art, at the  Basilica of Saint Mark , from  November 1 to 17, 2012  in Heraklion.
