The multifaceted action of the University of the Mountains has been exceptionally well received by the entire scientific community inside and outside Greece.
The University of Crete , FORTH , the Technical University of Crete – School of Architecture , the Mediterranean University – Department of Agriculture , the Hellenic Open University , the University of West Attica – Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering , the University of the Aegean , Boston College in the USA , Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom, the Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Germany, Leiden University in the Netherlands, Tanta University ( Prof. Moataz Sabry ) in Egypt, the Ringling College of Art and Design ( Dr. Bernice Jones) in Florida, USA and many other major universities in the country and abroad, collaborate with the PtO and have repeatedly sent more than 150 of their undergraduate and postgraduate students to study in Crete and at the University of the Mountains, considering that the work done in this voluntary organization is the evolution of higher education education and its opening to society that the whole world expects.
To date, 5 postgraduate theses have been prepared on topics related to the work of the PtO and the Penelope Gandhi Mission.
This education focuses on experiential knowledge, solidarity, happiness, participation and a holistic approach to life, and not just on scientific specialization.
At the same time, the PtO has co-organized and been invited to participate in major global scientific conferences, cultural events and exhibitions, such as Documenta 14 Athens , World Congress of Smart materials 2018, AUTEX 2017, etc.

- 11/2015: The University of the Mountains meets with Prof. Jan Slikkerveer and a group of scientists from Leiden University to discuss the participation of the University of the Mountains in international research programs.
- 6/2015: The University of the Mountains participates in the Panhellenic Conference on Lifelong Learning with the theme: “Crete – Chania 2015: Experiences, Perspectives, Perspectives in Lifelong Learning – Adult Education – Community Empowerment & Teacher Training”.
- 5/2015: The University of the Mountains participates in the Conference of the Department of Pedagogy of the University of Crete “The Pedagogy of Joy”.
